20,000 volunteer hours!

May 2013 marks an exciting milestone for Hui o Ko'olaupoko, we reached 20,000 hours of volunteer service donated to preserving, restoring and protecting the mauka and makai areas of Ko'olaupoko! 

What does 20,000 hours mean? In the context of HOK, a lot!  

To HOK 20,000 hours of volunteer service is the equivalent of:

• 9.6 full-time staff working on HOK projects
• $414,720 in staff cost savings and grant match
• Nearly 10 years of one staff working 8 hour days
• 2.28 volunteers working 24 hours per day for one year
