Hau'oli Makahiki Hou

Another year has come and gone, too quickly it seems, but 2015 brought a lot of wonderful change and new projects to Hui o Ko'olaupoko as well as thousands of amazing volunteers.
 
In 2015, we are so grateful to the 1850 volunteers who donated over 5000 hours to various HOK projects across Ko'olaupoko. HOK is an entity with a small staff, two full-time and one part-time employee.  The amount of volunteers we have had over the last 7 years equals a staff of nearly sixteen full-time employees.  Because of this, it's the volunteers that make HOK successful.
 
Here at HOK we are excited for 2016, watching current restoration sites mature and kicking off new projects, as well continuing our work with the community and our continual effort to have a positive impact on our natural environment through restoration and education programs.
  
Ultimately, we hope our work inspires you to take action, manifests action at the government level and can provide inspiration to the development industry to incorporate a rain garden or other ʻgreen buildingʻ techniques into new building designs.
