Waimanalo Community Clean-up
 Next Event Date TBD

The Waimanalo Community Clean-up Day is an annual event, held every January, which provides community members a hands-on opportunity to care for the natural resources in the Waimānalo community, including the beauty of Waimānalo’s back roads, streams, mountains and bay.

Hui o Ko‘olaupoko and 808 Cleanups are pleased to announce plans for the Seventh Annual Waimānalo Community Clean-up.  The event will be held at the Waimānalo District Park.

The organizations are currently recruiting volunteers  to form a “Street and Stream Clean-up Team” to pick up litter throughout the ahupua’a.  Waimānalo youth from Hui Malama O Ke Kai are leading the street and stream clean-up efforts by spending their Christmas vacation surveying Waimānalo to find the areas most in need of a helping hand.

Local businesses are supporting the event by providing supplies and funds to offset disposal of un-recyclable materials and feeding the wonderful volunteers.

For the past seven years, 2009 through 2016, over 470 volunteers have dedicated more than 1700 hours to help rid Waimanalo of illegal dump sites, keeping these items from getting into the precious streams and  ocean and ensuring that proper items get recycled.

Join us on again in 2017 to be a part of our 8th Annual event!
